Liveblogging the Governor's Race 2

7:30 pm: I just to Stub & Herb's, the bar Sue Jeffers owns on Oak Street on the U of M campus. I met Dan McGrath, Jeffers campaign manager, in the parking lot. He seemed optimistic about Jeffers chances tonight, buoyed by issues that "get conservatives hot under the collar" at Pawlenty--the governor's support of a Twins stadium without a referendum; his support of the Northstar Corridor, ethanol subsidies.

Of the Twins stadium, one of the main reasons Jeffers joined the race, he quotes a Pawlenty flip-flop, recalling, as McGrath paraphrases, when the governor said, "We're not going to subsidize billionaires to provide millionaires a place to play baseball."
