Bye-bye Bananas

Yes, we'll have no bananas ten years from now, according to experts. Insects, disease, and--more than anything--thousands of years of selective breeding have weakened the fruit to such a degree that scientists "will be unable to prevent the extirpation of the banana as an edible commercial crop." So, while new studies suggest genetically modified foods pose a "very low" risk to humans, there are bigger issues.
